The Academic Support Center (ASC) (formerly LDC) provides academic assistance to the RIT and Rochester communities. ASC areas include Academic Accommodations, Academic Assessment, College Restoration Program, Institute Testing Service, Learning Support Services, Mathematics, Reading and Writing, Study Skills, and Tutor Training. The Academic Support Center is located in the Eastman Building on the 2nd floor. Human Resource's Center for Professional Development (CPD) provides workshops, seminars and training for faculty and staff on quality service, individual performance, faculty/staff orientation, supervision/management/leadership, technology/computer skills and diversity/deaf culture and language. E-LearningZone, sponsored and supported by the CPD and ITS, is an alternative or complement to expensive classroom training. This new web-based training system is for RIT faculty, staff, and students. Developed and hosted by Element K, it is available at no incremental cost to all users with an RIT computer account.
The English Language Center (ELC) is designed to teach ESOL to students who plan to attend a university in the United States and who have previously studied English. The ELC conducts 11-week programs every fall, winter, spring and summer. Special programs for 12-15 people can be offered for short term study throughout the year.
The Educational Technology Center (ETC) provides a wide range of instructional, media and graphic services.
The Institute Effective Teaching Committee (IETC) works for the faculty and with the Institute academic administration to foster quality teaching at the Institute.
Online Learning at RIT offers faculty guidance and support in using distance and online technologies.
Wallace Library - Centrally positioned on the 1,300-acre campus, RIT Wallace Library is the hub for research and information exchange, housing traditional and digital research materials conveniently under one roof. The library is best described as a high technology, multimedia resource center offering access to a vast array of information resources as well as a place for the RIT community to gather, talk, connect, explore new ideas and more.
